Finding the Recommended Tire Pressure for Your Acura near San Diego, CA

If you’re unsure of how to find the recommended Acura RDX tire pressure amount, then you can consult your owner’s manual. Usually, most Acura vehicles have a recommended tire pressure amount of 32-35 pounds per square inch (PSI). If you have trouble finding your recommended Acura MDX tire pressure, then locate the sticker on the door frame of the driver’s side door. This should tell you the recommended tire pressure amount for your Acura vehicle’s tires.

Filling Your Acura Tires With Air

Now that you know what the tire pressure should be on an Acura MDX, you’ll be ready for when you need to actually fill up your tires with air. Your Acura comes with a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), which tells you if your tires are underinflated or overinflated. If your TPMS flashes, then pull over to the nearest filling station near Temecula, and perform the following:

  1. Find the low tire, which you should be able to locate with your TPMS.
  2. Find the small black cap on the low tire, and twist it off of the tire.
  3. Once the cap is off, insert your tire gauge to see how much air is in the tire.
  4. Use an air hose to fill the tire up with the appropriate amount of air.
  5. Once the tire is at the correct amount of pressure, put the cap back on the tire.

Sometimes, you may not be able to find a filling station, but if you have a portable air compressor, then follow these steps:

  1. Pull your Acura over onto level ground.
  2. Plug your air compressor into the cigarette port of your Acura.
  3. Turn on your car, letting it idle.
  4. Find the low tire, and take off the black cap.
  5. Put the hose of your air compressor into the tire, and fill up the tire with the appropriate amount of air.
  6. When the tire is at the right amount of air, put the cap back on the tire.

Tire gauges and air compressors can be found at gas stations and at our parts store at Acura of Escondido.

How to Turn off the Tire Pressure Light on Your Acura

Even after you’ve got the correct amount of Acura MDX tire pressure in your tires, you might still see the tire pressure light flash when you get back on the Carlsbad roads. This more than likely means that it just needs to be reset. Here’s how to turn off the tire pressure light on your Acura vehicle:

  1. For 10 minutes, drive at above 50 mph. This should reset the tire pressure light.
  2. If your light is still on, then turn the key to the “on” position without starting the car. Hold the TPMS reset button, which you can find in your owner’s manual. Push the button until the light flashes three times, and then release the button.
  3. Drive your car for 20 minutes, and this should reset the system.
  4. Inflate all of your tires over 3 PSI of the recommended amount of tire pressure.
  5. Then, deflate all of your tires.
  6. Inflate all of your tires back to the original amount.
  7. Turn your vehicle off and disconnect the positive battery terminal.
  8. Push the horn for three seconds.
  9. Reconnect the battery.

If your tire pressure light is still flashing, then schedule a visit to our service center in Escondido. Get all of your Acura RDX tire pressure questions answered and more when you visit us for quick and exceptional service.
